About the Theatre
The Albany Theatre, Coventry, is a multi-purpose arts centre and registered charity in the Earlsdon area of Coventry. It was originally built in 1935 as a lecture hall for Coventry Technical College.
The building survived the Coventry Blitz and later became a community-led theatre. Today, it is known for its striking Art Deco architecture and varied programme of events.
Venue Highlights
Recent Upgrades: A £3 million redevelopment, completed in October 2024, added a new foyer, bar and café. The project also introduced improved accessibility features throughout the venue.
Performance Spaces: The theatre has a 620-seat main auditorium with a proscenium arch. It also includes two new studio theatres and two flexible community spaces for performances, workshops, and events.
The Albany Theatre Shows: The Albany Theatre hosts a wide range of productions throughout the year. These include touring drama, live music, tribute acts, original artists, comedy, ballet, and family shows, including its annual in-house pantomime.
Practical Information
Accessibility: Most of the theatre is step-free and includes wheelchair-accessible seating and a Changing Places toilet. Please note that the balcony can only be reached by stairs.

Box Office: The box office is open Monday to Saturday from 10:30am to 1:30pm, and for one hour before performances. Contact via 024 7699 8964.
Parking: A multi-storey car park is located around 100 metres from the theatre. There are also a limited number of pay-and-display spaces directly outside the building, shared with the Premier Inn.
